Jessica PotterJessica is a graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She later completed her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Cox College in Springfield, Missouri. She initially found her passion for occupational therapy through attending an Animal Assisted Therapy conference in which she met numerous occupational therapists who incorporate animals into their everyday practice to assist individuals from various age groups, diagnoses, and settings. In her future career as an occupational therapist, she hopes to utilize therapy dogs within her treatment sessions based on the client’s needs and goals. Jessica utilizes client-centered intervention approaches that incorporate the child’s interests in order to enhance their ability to develop sensory motor skills, strengthen fine motor skills, and gain independence in everyday activities. In addition, she believes that building a professional rapport and partnership with family members is essential to promote growth and development to achieve necessary functional outcomes based on the child’s needs. Jessica recently moved to the Chicago area and is excited to explore the city with friends and her pup, Tennessee
